Women Infant and Children (WIC): This program is offered to pregnant women and new Moms up to six months after delivery, breastfeeding Moms up to one year after delivery, infant and children under the age of five years who live in Tennessee and meet income and program eligibility and guidelines. This Program provides food instruments which can be used at local stores to purchase mil, cereal, juice, eggs, cheese, peanut butter, whole gran breads, dry beans, fresh/frozen fruits and vegetables, infant formula, baby food and infant cereal. WIC also offers breastfeeding guidance and support, healthy eating education, and referral for a variety of services. DENTAL COVERAGE FOR PREGNANT AND POSTPARTUM WOMEN age 21 and older do not currently receive a dental benefit from TennCare will receive, effective April 1st, 2022, diagnostic xrays and exams, preventive cleanings, topical fluoride treatments and caries arresting medicament, restorative (fillings), endodontics (1 root canal per member per eligibility period), scaling and root planning, full moth debridement, crowns (2 per member eligibility period), complete dentures, complete dentures, denture relines, tooth extractions, alveoloplasty, removal of lateral exostosis, removal of torus palatinus, removal of torus mandibularis an palliative treatments. TennCare Medicaid. TennCare is the state of Tennessee’s Medicaid program. It provides healthcare to mostly low-income pregnant women, parents or caretakers of a minor child, children and individuals who are elderly or have a disability. To get Medicaid, you must meet the income and resource limits. You can apply anytime for TennCare. There are several different groups of people that may qualify. And, each group has different income limits. Some of the groups also have limits on how much you own-your "resources." These are things like bank accounts, cars, and land. The Sevier County Health Department Care Coordination and Home Visitation Program: CHANT services provide referrals and resources that impact pregnancy, child, and maternal health outcomes. Pregnant, postpartum adolescents and women, children under the age of 5, TennCare Kids and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs are all eligible.
